ACUSHNET, Mass. (WLNE) — A bear taking a tour of southeastern Massachusetts has wandered into Acushnet. An ABC 6 viewer sent video of the bear running down Mendall Road at about 2 p.m. Tuesday. Acushnet police said the bear was last seen in the area of Nyes Lane. They advised residents to bring all pets inside and to ultimately leave the bear alone. New Bedford police directed residents to bear safety tips provided by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife . Those who see the bear are advised to make loud noises and slowly back away.
